NMP solvent free, non hazardous, odour free coatings have their roots in diver applied underwater epoxies. Products are extremely tolerant of wet surfaces.
NMP utilizes the highest quality, most reactive curing agents available. Because of this, they have a more linear curing cycle than most other epoxy products which results in less exotherm (heat) during curing and more complete curing of the components. The molecular crosslinking of the base and curing agent is more complete.
This makes the cured product tougher, more chip resistant, less brittle, more durable and more chemically resistant. It also creates, superior adhesion, low permeability and the ability to withstand long term, constant submersion in many different liquid types without blistering or peeling. As a result, thinner coats are often possible with outstanding adhesion and an amazing degree of non-brittleness.
In addition solvent free means zero shrinkage during curing and the ability to use safely in confined spaces. 500 microns (0.5 mm) applied will remain 500 microns (0.5 mm) dry ... saving the labour and material costs of a second coat ... which results in real savings when total project costs are calculated.
